Given the complex nature of health care today, quality doesn’t just happen. It must be planned for, nurtured, and above all, expected. At Lehigh Valley Hospital and Health Network, we’ve created teams to ensure we deliver the highest quality of care.
Our Quality Team features 30 professionals, all focused on:
- Patient safety
- Ways to improve quality
- Patient satisfaction
- Our information systems
- Accreditation
- Rules and regulations
- Claims and insurance
Dedicated teams in each department also focus on improving quality through better technology, better processes and old-fashioned ingenuity.
The Performance Improvement Committee includes our senior leaders, and they regularly review the quality and safety initiatives of each department.
The Lehigh Valley Physician Group (LVPG) features a Medical Quality committee working to enhance the already high quality of our physicians' care by:
- Helping them use electronic health records to measure quality performance
- Participating in a national effort to define and improve health care quality and patient satisfaction
- Developing a series of patient and physician education programs for emerging health care issues
